Raiders, Cyclones swap spots in rankings

Sullivan North and Elizabethton swapped places, but there was little other movement when The Associated Press’ Tennessee high school football polls came out Monday.The Cyclones (7-2) leapfrogged the Golden Raiders (8-1) to No. 7 in the Class 3A rankings, with North dropping to eighth. Both teams were coming off wins, Elizabethton 34-7 over Johnson County and North 55-19 over Happy Valley.Daniel Boone (6-2) moved up from eighth to seventh in the 5A poll after the team that was ahead of the Trailblazers, Clarksville NE (5-3), lost 13-9 to Paducah Tilghman, Ky.In 6A, unbeatens Dobyns-Bennett (8-0) and Science Hill (8-0) held firm at No. 4 and No. 6, respectively.Across the border in Virginia, Clintwood (6-1) stayed at No. 2 in The AP’s Virginia Group A rankings and John Battle (8-0) held at No. 4.
