Moore-to-Comsa connection leads South to win

CHURCH HILL — Sullivan South wideout Christian Comsa is not exactly inconspicuous. The sophomore is listed at 6-foot-4 on the team’s current roster, but that probably is a bit deceiving.“He is the tallest kid I have,” South football coach Sam Haynie said, with a grin.Comsa grew a few more inches on Friday night in Church Hill — at least in the eyes of the Volunteer secondary. Quarterback Charlie Moore hit Comsa for two touchdowns, both in the first half, and the Rebels capitalized on three turnovers in a pivotal 33-6 victory in Big 8 Conference play.“(Comsa’s) a good young football player. He’s a big kid and has great hands,” said Haynie, whose team halted a three-game losing skid with the win. “He made a huge play on the ball as the second quarter ended, which was big for us.”The Falcons (3-4, 2-2) turned over the ball three times on the night. The Rebels (3-4, 1-3) scored 10 points off the trio of miscues. For the complete story, pick up a copy of the Oct. 6 edition of the Times-News.
