Dobyns-Bennett fell one spot to No. 4 in The Associated Press Tennessee high school football poll on Monday despite a 75-point win on Friday. The Indians (7-0) were tied with Whitehaven last week for third in Class 6A, but dropped 14 points behind the Memphis team this week despite the big victory over Sullivan Central. Science Hill (6-0) remained in fifth. The Big 8 Conference rivals meet in the final regular-season game Oct. 26. Other area teams ranked in the Tennessee poll included Daniel Boone, up a spot to eighth in 5A; Sullivan North (No. 7) and Elizabethton (No. 8), which both jumped up one spot in 3A; and Hampton, which rose two spots to No. 7 in 2A. In Virginia, Clintwood jumped up two places to No. 2 in Group A after its victory over then-No. 10 Union, and John Battle moved up one spot to fourth. Union and Honaker dropped out of the top 10 after they both suffered losses. The Tigers fell 35-0 to Richlands for their first defeat of the season.
