Sullivan South junior Cayman Ratliff has had an outstanding year of golf. He qualified for the Tennessee state amateur tournament and shot an opening-round 67.Ratliff won the Big 8 Conference individual crown at The Crossings in August and backed that up with an impressive victory at the District 1-AAA tournament at The Club at Ridgefields.Already getting noticed by Division I schools, Ratliff hopes to continue his golf career at the University of Tennessee.Recently, Ratliff answered some questions put to him by Times-News executive sports editor Pat Kenney:Who is your favorite athlete?Rory McElroy.What is your favorite movie?“Dark Knight,” the latest Batman movie.What is your best athletic memory?When I shot 67 in the opening round of the Tennessee state amateur. I was actually leading the morning wave. That felt pretty cool.What is your worst athletic memory?In an AJGA tournament at Cattails, I missed a 7-foot putt that would have won it and then another 7-footer in a playoff.In a movie made about your life, who would play you?Christian Bale.If you hosted a dinner party and could invite any three people, who would they be?Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player.If you could have a superpower, what would it be?Being able to fly would be cool.Do you have any superstitions?Not really.Do you have a nickname?Some people call me Camo.What advice do you have for younger players?You can’t let one bad hole ruin your round. You just have to shake it off and move on. If you dwell on it then things will only get worse.
