There is no question what draws race fans to Bristol Motor Speedway each August. Watching NASCAR’s best battle under the lights for three nights has made Bristol a highly anticipated stop on the NASCAR circuit. But there is a lot of downtime between the Camping World Truck Series Race on Wednesday night and the Irwin Tools night race on Saturday. Luckily, there are plenty of activities scheduled at and around the track to keep folks entertained until the drivers start their engines. As far as entertainment options at the track, it’s hard to top Toyota Territory, which is located in the Earhart Campground. The display features several interactive activities, appearances by Toyota’s stable of NASCAR drivers, and a VIP hospitality area open to any race fan who owns a Toyota, Scion or Lexus vehicle. The interactive displays include an opportunity to test drive several Toyota trucks and SUVs on a custom built offroad course, photo opportunities with Kyle Busch’s No. 18 Camry and an NHRA Funny Car, and a chance to race R/C trucks. Toyota Territory will be open from Wednesday through Saturday with activities starting at 10 a.m. each day. On Thursday, the always popular Food City Family Race night takes center stage with several drivers available to sign autographs on State Street in Bristol. There is also plenty of entertainment on tap with a concert by Rodney Adkins headlining the action. Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon will make appearances while Clint Bowyer and Greg Biffle are among the drivers who will be signing autographs at the event. Festivities start at 1 p.m. and continue until 9 p.m. The transporter parade will follow the Food City Family Race Night as the NASCAR transporters are scheduled to leave the parking lot at the Bristol Mall at 9 p.m. and head down Volunteer Parkway to the speedway after leaving the mall. A bevy of driver appearances and various entertainment options will be available at the track on Friday and Saturday for fans who arrive early to beat the traffic.
