K-Mets top Astros, halt five-game slide

KINGSPORT — The boys got back in town M o n d a y. Wednesday night at Hunter Wright Stadium, they finally made it all the way back. The Kingsport Mets hammered out 10 hits and exploited four Greeneville errors and a passed ball to take a 5-0 Appalachian League win over the visiting Astros. “I think we have a good team. I hope we do. I feel very confident about our team,” said K-Mets manager Frank Fultz. “We just haven’t gotten it all together yet. Hopefully this will be a start.” The K-Mets (11-18) pulled themselves out of the West Division cellar with the win, ending a five-game losing skid.
