Lightning' strikes for sixth time at Kingsport Speedway

KINGSPORT — The weather has been a major story so far this season at Kingsport Speedway with five racing programs falling victim to rain. The sun was out Friday, however, allowing for an exciting evening of action to go off without a hitch. That didn’t stop Lightning from striking Victory Lane for the sixth time this season. Nate “Lightning” Monteith continued his mastery of the Late Model division by picking his way up from the fourth starting position to win the 60-lap feature. The Blountville native was the fastest in qualifying, but was forced to start fourth when the top four qualifiers were inverted for the start of the race. That obstacle hardly slowed down Monteith, who found his way to the front on lap 12 and never looked back.
