Both squads piled up points in the field events and went on to dominating team performances.
The Lady Blue Knights won eight events outright and finished the day with 141 points. Rye Cove was second with 67 points and St. Paul third at 66.
Leaving no doubt about who was the best boys team on the track, the Pioneers captured 10 of the 15 events contested and amassed 223 points. Coeburn followed with 119 points and Castlewood finished third with 34.
Junior Kayla Morgan was among the Lady Blue Knights’ points leaders. She won the long jump (14-¾) and triple jump (28-8¾), finished sixth in the shot and ran a leg on Coeburn’s winning 4x100-meter relay (54.86).
