He’s used to flying solo. For four consecutive seasons, he has been the War Eagles’ only wrestler.
“I’ve learned that if you try hard enough at something, you’re eventually going to get it,” said Bartee, who achieved his dream at the recent Group A state wrestling meet in Salem.
“The only thing is, you have to work twice as hard as everyone else and work at it 365 days a year.”
His state title in the 140-pound weight class is the first state championship won by a Rye Cove athlete since the Lady Eagles won the Group A volleyball crown in 2003-04.
