Comebacks keep D-B grapplers alive for regionals

KINGSPORT — Technically, the Dobyns-Bennett wrestling team hasn’t qualified for next week’s regional duals.

But had the Indians lost to David Crockett on Tuesday night, that goal — and their overall objective of making state duals for a third consecutive season — would have been unreachable.

Thanks to gutsy performances by the Tribe’s middleweight grapplers, the Indians are still alive in the regional race. D-B tallied three straight third-period comebacks in the early going and went on to defeat David Crockett by a 41-27 margin at the Buck Van Huss Dome.
