Gate City, Honaker expect line play to be key in Division 2 title game

Change is a constant in football as a new batch of formations and plays spread through playbooks like wildfire each fall.

But sometimes the more things change, the more they stay the same.

That will certainly be the case in the Region D, Division 2 championship game, which is set for this Saturday at 12:30 p.m. on the green turf at Carl Smith Stadium on the campus of Virginia-Wise.

Gate City (9-2) and Honaker (7-4) have both relied on dominant offensive and defensive lines to get this far. Now, an irresistible force will meet an immovable object on each snap as each team tries to take another step toward a state title.
