JOHNSON CITY — Welcome back, Flack.

With another Big 8 Conference volleyball match already well in hand, Doniqua Flack returned to the fray and put an exclamation point on Dobyns-Bennett’s 25-11, 25-11, 25-14 drubbing of Science Hill on Thursday night.

After missing the first week of the season due to an ankle injury, Flack returned on Tuesday and saw limited action. On Thursday, however, she made a major impact by recording five of her eight kills in the third game to help the defending Class AAA state champs put away the reeling Lady Hilltoppers.

“She’s just a tremendous leader,” D-B coach Kathi Shaffer said. “She just helps us so much with her play, but also with her leadership on the court. We’ve really missed her.”
