KINGSPORT — The Kingsport Mets couldn’t stand prosperity.
After winning five straight Appalachian League baseball games, the streak came to a halt Tuesday night, 7-2 at the hands of the Princeton Rays.
“We’d had a nice stretch the last five days,’’ K-Mets manager Mike DiFelice said in the clubhouse after speaking briefly with his players. “It was one of those days. Our focus now is to come back tomorrow and win the series.’’
It’s unlikely Princeton and Kingsport will overtake Pulaski and Elizabethton in their respective divisional races, but there is an incentive for both teams to keep competing.
