K-Mets plate 12, rout Danville

KINGSPORT — Kingsport blew open the game by scoring eight runs in the eighth inning and went on to a 12-4 win over Appalachian League East Division leading Danville on Thursday at Hunter Wright Stadium.

Wasting little time, the Braves (24-19) opened the contest with three runs in the top of the first.

The K-Mets (19-23) tallied a run in the second on a homer by Albert Cordero and tied the game with two more runs in the third.
