Prep roundup: Sullivan East trumps Morristown West

MORRISTOWN — Senior guard Koree Deeb scored a game-high 18 points in leading Sullivan East to a 70-52 boys basketball victory over Morristown West on Monday.

The Patriots (10-5) led by seven at the half. Jeremy James added 16 points and Jordan Cross 11 for Sullivan East.

Matt Craine pumped in 17 points and Sean Jones had 13 for Morristown West.

Clinch 40, Lighthouse Christian 34

KINGSPORT — Toby Norris netted 15 points for the Wildcats.

Clinch outscored Lighthouse 16-4 in the first quarter en route to the win. Ethan Murrel chipped in 10 points for the ’Cats (4-4).

Mica Smith scored 13 points and grabbed 18 rebounds for the Knights (6-4). Seth Crawford added eight points and 10 assists.


Clinch 33, Lighthouse Christian 21

KINGSPORT — Clinch raced out to a 13-2 after one quarter of play on its way to the win.

Holly Sauceman scored eight points and Danielle Gillespie had seven to lead the Lady Wildcats (3-4).

Anisa Crawford scored 15 points and brought down 12 rebounds for Lighthouse Christian (0-7).

Tri-Cities Christian 50, Mountain Mission 18

GRUNDY — Lauren Miller put up 17 points for the Lady Eagles, who led the Challengers 24-5 at halftime.

Miller connected on four 3-point goals. Taylor Holbrook scored nine and Beka Leuzinger had eight.
