Pennington Gap woman sentenced in forgery cases

Gennifer Gosnell, 31, Route 2, Box 138, Pennington Gap, was sentenced Friday in Lee County Circuit Court to serve one year and three months in the Virginia State Penitentiary after being found guilty earlier of three counts of forgery and one of uttering a forged check.
Gosnell was sentenced to concurrent six-year terms in prison on each charge, but the court suspended all but one year and three months in lieu of five years of supervised probation.
Gosnell was allowed to remain free on bond until June 1 at 6 p.m. She was additionally ordered to begin paying restitution within 30 days of release.
