Prep roundup: Dockery scores 23 in Titans' win

NICKELSVILLE - A loud boom came from the gymnasium at Twin Springs High School on Saturday.

Following a slow opening quarter, the Titans exploded for 24 points in the second period of their basketball game with Ervinton. The home team then cruised in for a 48-29 Cumberland District win against the Rebels.

Mark Dockery led the way for Twin Springs with a game-high 23 points while Tyler Estep added 12 for the Titans.

Luke Rasnick led Ervinton with nine points.

Unicoi County 69, West Greene 54

ERWIN - Ike Weaver was dominant with 27 points as the Blue Devils took a 19-8 lead after one quarter and never looked back.

Unicoi County (16-6, 7-0) remained unbeaten in the Watauga Conference.

Mount Mission 60, Cedar View 43

KINGSPORT - Mount Mission outscored the Seahawks 17-3 in the third period to secure the win.

Chafa Teressa had 22 points for Mount Mission while Eyob Berihun chipped in with 10.

Collin Addington paced Cedar View (9-13) with a game-high 27 points.


Twin Springs 54, Ervinton 20

NICKELSVILLE - The Lady Titans sprinted out to a 32-5 halftime lead and never looked back en route to a Cumberland win.

Emily Kincer led Twin Springs with 15 points while Whitney McConnell added 13.

Amber Farmer led Ervinton with 11 points.

Cedar View 59, Mount Mission 38

KINGSPORT - The Lady Seahawks took control by outscoring Mount Mission 22-7 in the third quarter.

Elizabeth Vannoy had 17 points for Cedar View (13-6) while Charity Vannoy and Tori Fugate each added 14.

Zakia Lghzaoui's 20 points paced Mount Mission.
