ROGERSVILLE — The Hawkins County Humane Society is still full and getting new dogs and cats every day.

To help with the overflow, the shelter is continuing its adoption special of $40 for dogs (not puppies) and $30 for cats.

The shelter is located at 5180 Highway 11-W in Rogersville.

The six dogs featured below are just a small sample of what the shelter has to offer. Read on for the Humane Society’s descriptions of these adoptable dogs.

Ollie: 1-year-old shepherd/hound mix

“Ollie is one of the sweetest and nicest dogs you will ever meet. He has low to medium activity so he should be able to adapt to most new homes. Ollie loves people and gets along great with other dogs. A super special dog that fits a good and loving home.”

Bart: 2-year-old AmStaf mix

“Bart is housebroken and neutered. The is a great all-around dog, loves kids and gets along with both dogs and cats. Very sweet, loving dog, with moderate activity. Loves to play, go for walks, hang out with people and to be loved.”

Winston: 1-year-old Staffordshire mix

“Winston is super people-friendly. He is an all-around fun and loving dog. He will make a great family pet. Winston will warm you up with his smile and kisses.”

Buck: 1-year-old shepherd and Lab

“Buck is a beautiful dog with kind, friendly eyes, expressive character, intelligence and good temperament. He loves people. He really likes to play and play fetch. With his nice fur, he is fun to pet. He will make a great best friend.”

Anastasia: 6-year-old Lab and toy terrier mix

“Anastasia needs help. She came in to the shelter more low keyed and gentle. She is still super nice but is more wound up and anxious. Please help work with her and reassure her she is OK. You should get great rewards. She loves kids and other dogs.”

Maggie: 2-year-old toy terrier mix

“Maggie is a bundle of love with kind and expressive eyes, intelligence and good temperament. She is small and loaded with great character and good fun. She loves people and to ‘take it easy’ with a nice family.”

The shelter is a no-kill facility. For more information, call the shelter at (423) 272-6538. The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 5 p.m.
