Donald Edward Anderson

MT. CARMEL- Donald Edward Anderson, age 84, of Mt. Carmel, TN passed away peacefully July 11, 2019 at a local hospital.

He was surrounded by family and friends. Donald graduated from Church Hill High School and was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County. He married his high school sweetheart, Claudette. He served in the US Army Military Police in Fort Hood, Texas. Upon returning to Mt. Carmel he worked at Mead Paper for 47 years, while also owning his own trucking company. He was an active member of the Church Hill Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and the Jericho Shriners. His passion included his family and friends, Nascar, Dallas Cowboys and gardening.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Edgar (Jack) and Deneen Francisco Anderson; sister Patsy Chapman; brother Hugh Anderson; as well as 2 infant children.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Claudette Byington Anderson; daughter Donna Anderson Brody (Kirk) of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren Griffin Brody of Charlotte, NC, Greer Brody of Ypsilanti, Michigan, and Grace Brody of Chattanooga, TN; brothers Roy Dempsey Anderson, Hollis Anderson, Michael Butch Anderson and Jack Anderson, 5 nieces and 5 nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday, July 13, 2019 from 2 - 3 pm at Tri-Cities Funeral Home, Church Hill. Funeral services will follow at 3 pm with Rev. Mark Roberts officiating. The graveside service will follow at Church Hill Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association at 2451 Crystal Drive, Ste. 900, Arlington, VA 22202 in memory of Donald.
