He was born October 16, 1937 in Sneedville, TN. He was saved at an early age and was a member of Rocky Summit Church where he faithfully served as Song Leader. Cliff loved to sing, hear hymns and gospel music with his Bible in hand, well read, worn and ragged. Cliff leaves a legacy of hard work, integrity, and love to his family and friends.He is preceded in death by his mother and father, King and Ploma Keaton, brothers, J.E. and Ralph Keaton and sister, Ruby Mills (Ray); brothers-in-law Wayne Johns, George Mabe, and Clint Lawson; sister-in-law Jean Wilder. Cliff served in the Navy and worked for Jeffrey Chain and WR Grace in Morristown, TN.
He is survived by his wife Dinah Keaton, his sons Steve (Kim) Keaton and Chad (Lisa) Keaton. Step-children Darrell (Dan’yel) Price, Anthony Price and Travis (April) Price. Grandchildren, Josh Keaton, Leah (Ritchie) Begley, Clay and Emily Keaton. Step Grandchildren, Austin Ebbs, Julie Price, Calli Price, Allison Evans, Matthew Evans, Makayla Price, Caitlyn Price, Anna Price, Kamryn Price, Katilyn Bowman, Kasey Bowman, Heather (Russ) Reel, Spencer Trent. Great Grandchildren, Ella and Ava Begley and Aiden Trent. Brother Roy (Fern) Keaton. Sisters, Jewell (Larry) Trent, Annie Mabe. Sisters-in-law, Joyce Keaton, Annie Keaton, and Wilma Johns. Brother-in-law Billy Wilder. Several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Receiving of friends will be Monday, January 14th from 5-7 pm at Alder Funeral Home in Morristown. Service to follow at 7pm officiated by Rev. David Alder and Rev. Phil Hopkins. Burial will be at Rocky Summit Church in Bean Station Cemetery on Tuesday, January 15th at 2pm. Pallbearers will be Josh Keaton, Clay Keaton, David Keaton and Darrell Price. Honorary pallbearers: Dean Green, Tommy Carpenter, and Dennis West. The family would also like to thank special caregivers Sabra Lawson and Shirley Istre as well as the Rescare home health team and the Amedisys hospice team.
