Born in Arlington, Massachusetts, July 24, 1929, Jerry was a graduate of Waltham High School, Waltham, Mass., Bentley College, Waltham, Mass., and Tufts University, Medford, Mass.
He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1951 and served in England from 1952 through 1954. While in England he met and married his wife, Margaret.
Upon graduation from Tufts in 1957 he joined Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, NY and in 1971 transferred to Eastman Chemical Company in Kingsport, TN. He retired from Eastman Chemical Company in 1987 as Manager of Customer Financial Services.
He was Past President of the Center of Opportunity, Past President of Ridgefields Country Club, Past Chairman of the Kingsport chapter of S.C.O.R.E., Treasurer of the Bays Mountain Park Association, and a volunteer at Friends in Need. In 2011 he was honored by the Kingsport Board of Education for 29 years of service to the Palmer Center and the Palmer Center Foundation. He was a member of First Baptist Church. In 2013, Margaret and he moved to Omaha, Nebraska to live near their daughter.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; brother, Richard D. Dahill, Thousand Oaks, CA; daughter Karen Snyder (Lester), Beaver Lake, NE; son Jeffrey (Rob Whelan) Johnson City; son Mark (Marie Scott) Pendleton, SC; two granddaughters; four grandsons and three great-grandsons.
