BLACKWATER, VA - David Y. Rhoton, age 68 of Blackwater, VA passed away Friday, November 9, 2018 at his residence.

He was born in Blackwater, VA on January 3, 1950, and was the son of the late Howard and Bonnie Vanzant Rhoton. In addition to his parents, David was also preceded in death by sister, Ruth Rhoton. He had retired from Eastman after 33 years of service. David also served in the US Navy and was a Vietnam Veteran and later served in the 1033 Transportation Unit, Gate City VA US Army National Guard. He spent the last 10 Years of his life seeing the country as an over the road truck driver.

Mr. Rhoton is survived by fiancé Debbie Huddleston; daughter Anita Campbell (Eric); son, Anthony D. Rhoton (Janet); grandchildren, Hannah Douthat, Barrett Rhoton and Conall Rhoton; sisters Ruby Robinette, Suella Ewing, Madge Gilliam (Roland), Nell Rhoton and Dianne Pittman; brothers, Jay Rhoton (Caroline), Jack Rhoton (Martha); Several nieces, nephews and fur buddy JoJo.

The family will receive friends Monday, November 12, 2018 from 5 to 7 PM at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, Weber City, VA. Funeral service will follow at 7 PM.  Graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 11 AM in the Lane Cemetery, Blackwater VA with the American Legion Post #3/265 and Virginia National Guard providing military honors. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10 AM to follow in procession. Pallbearers are family and friends.
