Eva Louise Gover

BIG STONE GAP, VA - Eva Louise Gover, 64, passed away early Sunday (Nov. 4, 2018) at Indian Path Medical Center in Kingsport, TN.

She was a lifelong resident of Big Stone Gap, attended North Carolina A & T University, was a cook/server for Valero Convenience Store in Big Stone Gap and Subway in Wise, and was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Appalachia, VA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo and Eva (Stone) Gover, Sr.; brothers, Alonzo Gover, Jr., Lewis Gover and Harold Gover; and sister, Margie Evans.

Surviving are her sisters, Joyce Clayton, Barbara Gover and Sadie Gover, all of Cleveland, OH; brother, Maurice (Cynthia) Gover of Reynoldsburg, OH; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and an aunt, Louise Bragg of Cleveland, OH.  

The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. Friday (Nov. 9) at Gilliam Funeral Home (618 Wood Ave., W.) in Big Stone Gap.  The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Sandra Jones of the Williams Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church officiating.

Services at Oakview Cemetery in Big Stone Gap will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to:  M.E.O.C. Fuel Assistance Fund, P. O. Box 888, Big Stone Gap, VA  24219.
