Jean Vaughn

CHURCH HILL – Wilma Jean Vaughn, 84, of Church Hill, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday afternoon (October 9, 2018) at Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness.

Jean graduated from Fairview High School in 1949. She retired from Kmart following 32 years of service. Jean loved to read, to crossstich, and to garden. Mrs. Vaughn committed herself to her family and their well-being until the very end. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Vaughn and her parents, Roy and Clara Bowen.

Jean Vaughn is survived by her daughters, Debra Wurmser and Pamela Peterson and husband, Kenneth; grandchildren, Natasha Vaughn and Travis Teague, Nathan Wurmser, Kyle Peterson and wife, Emily and Erik Peterson; 2 great-grandchildren, Alana Swafford and Jayda Teague and special caregiver Joanna Peterson.

A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday (October 16, 2018) at 6 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport, with Rev. Kenneth Peterson, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Clouds Bend United Methodist Church, 940 Bradbury Street, Kingsport, TN 37665.
