CHURCH HILL – Wanda Griffin, 66, passed away Monday, October 8, 2018 at her residence.

Wanda was a lifelong resident of Church Hill. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Belmont Baptist Church. She retired from being an operator at Embark after 30 plus years of service. She spent many years working at Oak Grove Baptist Church Nursery. Wanda was a loving mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Daniel and Olivia Elwanda Carter; brother, Jimmy Carter; nieces, Becky Brown Price and Heather Rogers.

Wanda is survived by her daughter, April Steele (Denny); grandchildren, Peyton and Rylee Steele; sisters, Jean Fuller, Barbara Brown (John); brothers, Bobby Carter (Jean), Danny Carter (Teresa), Billy Carter (Debbie); special friends, Ann Byrd and Freda Mae Robinette; godsons, Michael Byrd and Jay Robinette; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. Funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor James Adams officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, October 14 at Church Hill Memory Gardens. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:50 PM. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made the funeral home to assist the family with the funeral cost.
