Bobby Joe was a brick handler for General Shale. He was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County. He loved raising game chickens and working horses and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betsy Light; parents, George Washington and Berlie Mae Light; brothers, Oakly, Ira, Howard, Gene, Hansel Light; sister, Opal Morelock; nieces, Peggy Moorelock, Becky Light.
Bobby Joe is survived by his sons, Chris Light and Dennis Light; daughters, Pat Henry (Donnie) and Sue Light; grandchildren, Clayton Light (Whitney), Donovan Light (Kelsey), Jada Light, Haley Lindsey, Dustin Potter; great grandchildren, Adeline Ridings, Audrey Light, Mason Potter, and Hudson Light; brother, Jack Light (Judy) along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. Funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Danny Dolen officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 15 at Morrison Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:00 AM to go in procession.
Pallbearers will be Chris Light, Dennis Light, Clayton Light, Donovan Light, Jada Light, Glen Light, Donnie Henry, and Ivan Light.
