She was preceded in death by her husband & forever love, Tom Hurd; parents, Farley & Sybil Linkous Nelms; beloved brother, William “Bill” Nelms; & infant son who she loved eternally.
Betty Ann is survived by two children, Tommy Joe Hurd Jr., wife Monica Rector Hurd, & Julia Ann Hurd Ives, husband James Todd Ives; sister, Rachel Nelms Butcher; & sister-in-law that cared for her daily, Maxine Hurd; grandchildren, Jenesis Brooke Fisher, Sydney Greer Hurd, Benjamin Ives, Jonah Zane Fisher, Parker Jo Hurd, Mathew Ives & special young man, Andrew Murph; loving caregivers, Linda Douthat & Debra Bledsoe along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Betty Ann was a beautiful, strong & independent woman who loved being outside & visiting with family, neighbors & friends.
Calling hours will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday, September 17, 2018 at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. Funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Gary Gerhardt & Rev. Mitch Russell officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Elm Springs Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:15 PM to go in procession.
Pallbearers will be James Skelton, Andrew Murph, Troy Alley, Ross Hughes, George Brewer, & William Nelms.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Church Hill, 202 E. Main Blvd. Church Hill, TN 37642, in Betty Ann’s memory.
