KINGSPORT - On September 12, 2018, our beloved husband, daddy and papaw, R.F. Quillin, 86, of Kingsport, closed his beautiful blue eyes and then opened them in his eternal home to forever be with Jesus.
He was a godly man of faith who dearly loved his family. He always loved sharing what the Lord had shown him from the scriptures. Mr. Quillin instilled a strong work ethic in his family and never complained about hard work as he provided for those he loved the most.
He was a member of New Buffalo Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher, Deacon and Song Leader. Mr. Quillin enjoyed farming and hunting and loved singing and serving the Lord
R.F. retired from Mead Paper as a Machine Operator following 25 years of service.
He was preceded in death by two infant sons, David and Nathaniel Quillin; granddaughter, Gina Begley; parents, Bob and Cora Gillenwater Quillin; nine sisters and three brothers.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 67 years, Vada June Hillman Quillin; children, Brenda (Billy) Caldwell, Cathy Quillin, Ronnie (Sandra) Quillin, Sharon (Bill) Lane, Melinda (Kenny) Clevenger, Don (Linda) Quillin, Dwight (Susan) Quillin, Donna (Jeff) Burke and Janet (Jay) Almaroad; 29 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; sister, Leona Hill and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Oak Hill Funeral Home in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Sunday, September 16, 2018, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Chuck Grimm and Pastor Odell Beauchamp officiating. A Eulogy will be given by Phil Kissinger.
A Graveside Service will follow at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA.
