Paul J. Gray

SURGOINSVILLE - Paul J. Gray, 63, of Surgoinsville, Tennessee, was healed of his lung cancer when Jesus called him home on August 3, 2018.

Paul was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Church Hill, TN. He worked as a coal miner in Kentucky for several years, and he enjoyed fishing in his spare time. Paul deeply loved his wife, children, and grandchildren. His grandbabies were his world, and he loved spoiling them.

Paul was born on June 24, 1955, to Philex and Barbara Gray (predeceased). He was also preceded in death by his sister, Victoria Gray; granddaughter, Destiny Stapleton; nephews, Philip Gray, Homer Osborne; and brother-in-laws, Jimmy Baldwin and Leroy Hudson.

Paul is survived by his wife, Martha Gray; sons, Paul Gray and wife Casey, Jimmy Gray and wife Beverly; daughters, Stella Stapleton and husband Mike, Charlotte Stinson and husband Jimmy, and Morgan Brooks; brothers, Mark Gray and wife Savenneh, Roscoe Gray and wife Judy, Oakley Gray, LK Gray and wife Becky; sisters, Charolette Martin and husband Freddy, Kathy Osborne and husband Homer; brother-in-laws, Jimmy Salyers and John Skeens. Paul also has six grandsons and five granddaughters that he loved very much.   

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 7, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Tri-Cities Funeral Home in Church Hill, TN. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, August 8, at 2:00 pm at the Tri-Cities Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Elsery Bailey and Pastor Lester Helton officiating. A private burial will immediately follow the service with pallbearers being Paul’s grandsons and friends.
