Luther “Luke” Thomas McNutt

KINGSPORT - Luther “Luke” Thomas McNutt 86 passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.

Mr. McNutt was born in Hiltons, Virginia but a resident of Kingsport, Tennessee most of his life. He was of the Baptist Faith, a retired employee of Paty Lumber Company after 28 years of service, and an avid lover of Nascar Racing, wrestling, bingo and the Atlanta Braves. He is preceded in death by his parents; Mamie and Thurman McNutt, grandson; Wesley Woods, brothers; Walter McNutt, Billy Ray McNutt, Jimmy McNutt, sisters; Edith McDavid, Rosie Butler, Peggy Brummitt and son-in-law; Gene Woods. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years; Eva McNutt, daughters; Debbie Archer (Daniel), Betty Woods, son; Luther McNutt Jr. (Tommy), sisters; Mary McCall, Kathy McCoy, Edna McNutt, brothers; Wayne McNutt, Gilbert McNutt, grandchildren (6), great-grandchildren (2) along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 16, 2018 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm in the chapel at East Tennessee Funeral Home, 2630 Highway 75, Blountville, Tennessee. Services to follow. Pastor Joe Hill officiating. An entombment service will be at 11:00am on Monday, June 18, 2018 at East Tennessee Funeral Home, Chapel of Resurrection Mausoleum. Music will be provided by Rejoicing Voices.
