Bennie “Butch” Jay Williams Sr.

GATE CITY, VA - Bennie “Butch” Jay Williams Sr., age 64 of Gate City, VA passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at his residence.

He was born in Kingsport, TN on May 26, 1953, and retired as a welder at Joy Manufacturing.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton Williams and Virginia Patton; a daughter, Ashley Williams, a sister, Joan Sexton, and a brother, Jimmy Williams.

Butch is survived by his Spouse of 47 years, Deborah Williams; son, Bennie “BJ” Williams II; daughter, Beth Williams;  grandchildren, Kaitlin Tittle, Tamra “Tia” Tittle, Clayton Cooke, Nathan Cooke and Bryon Williams; also surviving are 2 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday, April 30, 2018 from 5 to 7 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, Weber City, VA.  Funeral service will follow at 7 PM with Pastor Mike Gilliam officiating. Butch will be laid to rest Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 11 AM in the Tipton Chapel Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Chris Helton, Ronnie Davis, Danny Quillen, Eric McDavid, Eric Music and Dalmar Rhoton. Honorary pallbearers are Scotty Brown and Teddy Pendleton. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45 AM.
