Police capture Johnson City man accused of setting wife on fire

Washington County sheriff's deputies and Johnson City police arrested a man accused of setting his wife on fire during an argument that occurred this weekend.

On Sunday afternoon, at around 5:10 p.m., officers and deputies located Timothy Thurman, 20, outside of a house in Gray, less than one day after he was accused of burning his wife.

JCPD Capt. Debbie Botelho said that, on Saturday evening, Thurman and his wife were involved in a domestic dispute at their residence at 2 Mel Circle when it took a violent turn.
