Baltimore attempted murder suspect arrested in Kingsport

A man accused of trying to kill someone during a bar fight in Baltimore, Md., has been apprehended by Kingsport police and U.S. Marshals.Records at the Kingsport Police Department state Sylvon William Hemingway, 36, of 102 Beth Place, Dover, Del., was arrested Tuesday afternoon. According to KPD Public Information Officer Tom Patton, the United States Marshals Service learned Hemingway was frequenting Model City Apartments.Deputy U.S. Marshal Marcus Ball tells the Times-News that Hemingway had been wanted since April of this year, when he stabbed a man during a bar brawl in Baltimore. On Tuesday afternoon Marshals and the KPD set up surveillance near the apartments, 1000 Stonegate Road.Patton says a Nissan Versa leaving the complex carried Hemingway as a passenger. A subsequent traffic stop at the nearby intersection of Riverside Avenue and Mimosa Drive brought him into custody without incident.Hemingway is currently held in the city jail on an outstanding attempted-first degree murder warrant out of Baltimore, with extradition pending. Patton says Hemingway faces various other charges in that jurisdiction.
