Only Kingsport residents with children four years of age on or before Aug. 15 are eligible for pre-kindergarten screening. Parents and children must bring an original birth certificate (not a mother’s copy), up-to-date Tennessee Immunization Card with confirmation of medical examination, child’s social security card and proof of residency (mortgage statement, rental receipt, property tax receipt or most recent water/electric/gas bill), proof of family income and the child to be screened.
Children will not be screened without providing the documentation listed above. Pre-K classes are offered Monday – Friday between 8:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. Classes follow the Kingsport City Schools calendar and please note, transportation is not provided. Current Pre-K locations (subject to change) are Palmer Center, Johnson Elementary, Kennedy Elementary, Lincoln Elementary and Roosevelt Elementary.
Kingsport City Schools will hold kindergarten registration for the 2014-2015 school year on Monday, March 24 from 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Kingsport City Elementary Schools throughout Kingsport.
