Police are looking for Joey Lynn Miller, 36, Lamont St., Johnson City. He is charged with theft over $500.
According to SCSO Public Information Officer Leslie Earhart, the incident began in Decemeber when the SCSO received a report of a theft involving Miller, who is also the owner of Veteran's Fence Company.
The victim told officers that Miller had come to her home and gave her an estimate on installing a fence around her yard. Once the victim received the estimate, she allegedly paid Miller $600 down with the understanding he would complete the work by the next business day, according to a press release.
Miller failed to complete the work and the victim called him, demanding a refund, according to the sheriff's office press release. Miller reportedly told the victim he would return the money, but the sheriff's department said that as of Feb. 24, has not returned it.
Miller is being charged with theft over $500 and a warrant has been obatined for his arrest. Attempts to locate Miller have been unsuccessful, according to a press release.
