KINGSPORT — The Kingsport Chamber of Commerce’s 67th annual dinner is billed as the “Social Event of the Year,” but remains a time for the business community to look back on accomplishments in the previous year.

Another sold-out crowd of more than 1,700 people attended the event hosted Friday night at the MeadowView Marriott Conference Resort and Convention Center.

“There is so much happening in Kingsport,” said Monty McLaurin, 2013 Kingsport Chamber chair and CEO of Indian Path Medical Center. “We had a remarkable — and, in many ways — a historic year for our city.”

Andy Wampler, the incoming 2014 Kingsport Chamber chair and a shareholder with Wilson, Worley Moore Gamble & Stout, said, “We have so much momentum occurring right now in our community, and it promises to continue this year.”

The Kingsport Chamber touts its annual dinner as the largest chamber annual dinner in the nation.

“The Kingsport Chamber annual dinner represents the very best of Kingsport,” Kingsport Chamber President and CEO Miles Burdine said. “It’s a night to join with 1,700 of your closest friends and colleagues at a spectacular event that celebrates this great community we call home.”
