Orbry Strouth, 26, Market St, Blountville, was charged with burglary and vandalism over $500. Timmy Burchfield, 27, Carters Valley Road, Church Hill, was also charged with burglary and vandalism over $500.
The incident began when officers with the Sullivan County Sheriff's office responded to a burglary report at Dixie Outpost Barbecue in Blountville.
When they arrived, a witness told officers that he heard a loud noise and observed a female outside the restaurant. The female was wearing a black and white jacket and got into a silver car and left the restaurant. The witness told officers that once the vehicle left, he saw the glass in the door of the restaurant had been broken, the release stated.
A "be on the lookout" (BOLO) was issued for the vehicle. Bristol police performed a traffic stop on a vehicle matching the description of the silver vehicle. A female passenger also matched the description given to officers by the witness.
The passenger was identified as Strouth, who used to work for Dixie Outpost Barbecue. She admitted to having the driver, Burchfield, drop her off at the business so she could use a tire tool to break out the glass in the door, the news release stated.
The owner of the business told officers he could not find anything missing.
Strouth and Birchfield were both arrested and taken to the Sullivan County jail. Both have since been released on $3,000 bond.
