If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.

Or, in the alleged case of a Kingsport man, get arrested again, marking the second time you're caught with a stolen vehicle in just four days.

Police report David M. Stallard, 18, of 1207 Camelia Ave., was located Thursday afternoon at Model City Apartments. The same scenario played out Sunday morning at the same location, 1000 Stonegate Road.

In the latest incident, a 1996 Pontiac Sunfire was reported stolen on Thursday afternoon. Kingsport Police Department Lt. Sean Chambers says the victim knows Stallard, who was soon found with the car in a parking lot of the apartment complex.

Stallard was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property and driving on a revoked license. Police say his passenger and girlfriend, Kayla A. Clark, 20, 1208 Tranbarger Drive, lot 25, was charged with possession of stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia. She allegedly had three glass pipes and rubber tubing commonly used to smoke methamphetamine.

Shortly before 11 a.m. Sunday, Stallard was spotted at Model City Apartments in a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix. Police say that vehicle had been reported stolen Aug. 15 from Bill McConnell's Paint and Body Shop, 2551 East Stone Drive, where it had been left for repairs.

Stallard was also arrested in that incident and transported to the city jail, charged with motor vehicle theft. He was also banned from Model City Apartments, prompting a charge of criminal trespassing in Thursday's arrest.
