A suspect wanted since May in a series of burglaries has been arrested, the Kingsport Police Department announced today.

Jeremy R. Stout, 28, 1006 Laurelwood Drive, Apt. 2, was charged with two count of burglary, attempted aggravated burglary, theft of property over $500 and attempted theft under $500.

The original incident began on May 12 when Stout was found in a residential storage building. Further investigation revealed he had attempted to break into the home as well. A couple of days later, Stout returned to the scene and sole a push mower and a DVD player, according to the police report. The lawnmower has since been recovered.

Later that month, Stout threw a rock through the window of Holy Mountain Baptist Church. After breaking the window, Stout climbed on top of a heat pump and attempted to gain entry. The church’s burglar alarm system activated and Stout fled the scene.

In the early morning hours of August 5, KPD received information that Stout was at Lee apartments. Officers responded to the scene and arrested Stout without incident, the police report stated.
