The pitfalls of sharing too much information via social media have worked in favor of Kingsport police, who located a felony theft suspect after he allegedly advertised stolen merchandise for sale on his Facebook page. A report at the Kingsport Police Department says authorities were alerted to his alleged theft on June 26.A loss prevention officer at Walmart, 2500 West Stone Drive, reported $545 in camping equipment had been stolen the week prior. It included multiple tents, an air mattress, tackle box and fishing line. The store employee told police that he suspected Anderson in the incident — and had since located the stolen items advertised for sale on Anderson's personal Facebook page. After reviewing pictures and videos submitted by the loss prevention officer, police say they confirmed his suspicions.Anderson was contacted by investigators about the warrant for his arrest and turned himself in Thursday at the Kingsport Justice Center.
