KINGSPORT — Police say a woman suspected of stealing $600 worth of jewelry from a Kingsport department store has turned herself in to authorities, just hours after they asked for the public's assistance in identifying her through surveillance images. Bridgette M. Rollins, 26, of 209 Virgil Ave., Kingsport, is charged with felony theft of more than $500. Kingsport police say that on May 9 she shoplifted jewelry from Belk in the Kingsport Town Center. The total value of the stolen items was $625.
Thursday afternoon the Kingsport Police Department released surveillance images and asked for the public's assistance in identifying the suspect. At approximately 1:30 a.m. Friday, Rollins went to the police department and identified herself as the suspect.
Police say Rollins brought the majority of the stolen items with her to the department. She was processed into the Kingsport City Jail then transported to the Sullivan County Justice Center in Blountville.
