ROGERSVILLE — A Hawkins County man told deputies he purchased two stolen guns that were located at his residence Friday morning, from a person in the parking lot of a gun show in Kingsport.

Shortly after 8 a.m. Friday the HCSO and paramedics were dispatched to 398 Carters Valley Road after a woman call 911 about her brother, Kyle Tustin, 23, of that address, was "being lethargic.”

As Tustin was being checked by EMS, responding deputies reportedly observed several firearms in plain view and asked Tustin if they could search the residence for possible illegal items.

“He gave verbal consent,” said Sgt. Mike Allen. “I then checked the serial numbers of several of the firearms. Two of the firearms came back stolen.”

Allen added, “I then asked where he had obtained them. He advised he had bought them in the parking lot of Meadowview Convention Center during a gun show.”

The guns included a Mauser rifle valued at $100 and a Arminius “.38 Special” pistol valued at $280.

The two guns were seized as evidence by the HCSO and Tustin received a property receipt for them.
