One suspect was said to have wielded a broom. June 19A caller from West Sullivan Street reported a fight between a man and a woman, with the female being the aggressor. The male — who was wearing a "wife beater" — was reportedly just "trying to get away."A Virgil Avenue resident called police on a suspicious man outside her home, possibly attempting to steal her bird bath.June 19An officer was dispatched to Belk in the Kingsport Town Center. Upon arrival loss prevention had a woman in custody, saying that she had earlier purchased items in the store. After the transaction was completed, she attempted to leave with her bags— but first stuffed them with an additional 48 pieces of underwear. The suspect, 42, was arrested for felony theft, as the undergarments were valued at $881.
