That's fine with 19-year-old Mark Daniel, who plans to go to San Francisco to work on forming StatusHawk, a Web-based application that puts various workplace reports into one format that is easy to read.
The Tennessean reports Daniel received the funding from a foundation created by Silicon Valley financier and PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel.
Mike Gibson, the foundation's vice president for grants, said Thiel believes college can inhibit entrepreneurs from pursuing their ideas, but that fellows should resume their studies when the fellowship ends.
Daniel called in "an honor" to be included in the Thiel Foundation's 20-Under-20 program.
