Jury drops attempted murder charge in Carter County police chase verdict

ELIZABETHTON — A Carter County juror decided against an attempted murder charge today for a man involved in a police chase through four jurisdictions in 2011, opting instead for a reckless endangerment conviction.
Travis Grover Richardson, 30, also was convicted of two counts of aggravated assault, aggravated robbery, two counts of evading arrest creating a risk of death and criminal simulation.
He had been charged with attempted second-degree murder, but the jury convicted him of the lesser included charge of reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon.
