Police: Student caught with unloaded .357 at Knoxville middle school

KNOXVILLE — A seventh-grader is in custody after authorities allegedly confiscated an unloaded handgun from him at Bearden Middle School this morning, police said.

The .357 magnum allegedly was found in the boy’s possession following a tip, said Knoxville Police Department spokesman Darrell DeBusk.

No ammunition was discovered, he added.
