ROGERSVILLE — Jesse Allen Short, 29, 109 Gulf St., Whitesburg, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia early Saturday morning after Rogersville Police Department Assistant Chief James Hammonds allegedly observed Short “shooting up” inside a 2000 Chevy Cavalier parked in the Rogersville Walmart parking lot on Route 66.
Hammonds stated in his report that shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday, he observed Short pulling what looked like a syringe from his arm area.
As he approached Short’s vehicle, Hammonds allegedly observed Short attempt to place the item under his seat.
Upon searching the vehicle, Hammonds allegedly found two syringes and two spoons.
Short then allegedly admitted he had “shot up” and attempted to hide the syringe when he saw Hammonds.
