Gun group targets Tennessee lawmakers, including Ramsey, who don’t ‘understand the Constitution’

NASHVILLE — John Harris, executive director of the Tennessee Firearms Association, has listed five state legislators — along with House Speaker Beth Harwell and Senate Speaker Ron Ramsey — as legislators “who do not understand the Constitution” as it applies to gun rights.
The listing came in a post on the TFA’s Facebook page that also points to an article on Arkansas becoming the fifth “constitutional carry” state, passing a law that says no handgun carry permit is needed to pack a pistol.
“Tennessee is not likely to adopt constitutional carry through the Legislature as long as we have legislators who do not understand the Constitution,” Harris wrote. “We must refocus effort to remove such legislators.”
