Mother could have child neglect conviction erased from record

A woman accused of leaving her infant alone in a hotel room pleaded guilty to a lesser charge and will have the conviction erased from her record next year in a plea agreement reached last week.

Tina Strange, 30, of Ashland, Ky., was charged March 20 with non-violent child abuse and neglect. She was arrested after police responded to the DoubleTree Hotel around 11:30 that night.

In a Washington County Sessions Court hearing Thursday, Strange pleaded guilty to attempted child neglect under the state’s expungement statute.
