KINGSPORT — A Kingsport motorcyclist remained in critical condition on Tuesday afternoon due to injuries sustained in a Sunday traffic collision.

Gregory Marlow, 46, of Wellington Boulevard, is still hospitalized at Holston Valley Medical Center, according to Wellmont spokesperson Jim Wozniak. Kingsport police say that shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday, Marlow was riding a 2012 Triumph Explorer eastbound on West Stone Drive.

As he approached the intersection of Netherland Inn Road, a westbound Chevrolet Equinox allegedly attempted to turn left onto Netherland Inn, pulling into the path of Marlow and creating the collision. The Chevrolet driver reportedly told police that she did not see the motorcycle.

Marlow was transported from the scene to the hospital with serious injuries. As of Tuesday afternoon, no charges had been placed in the incident, with KPD Crash Reconstructionist Dustin Jackson saying an investigation is continuing.
